Cybersecurity is one of the biggest risks in today's world, and yachting is no exception. In fact, research shows that nearly 80% of cybersecurity breaches come from human error, often unintentional. That's why training crew and shoreside staff to recognize and respond to cyber threats is essential for keeping everyone safe—and for staying compliant with regulations like GDPR and the latest updates to the ISM Code, which now includes Cyber Risk Management.

Created by Dr. Paul Hunton of Maritime Cyber Solutions along with Bond IT staff, our NCSC-accredited cyber courses are tailored specifically for yacht crew, management staff, and port-side professionals. You'll gain practical insights on identifying cyber risks and best practices for protecting sensitive onboard and shoreside technology when connected to the internet. This training is not only an industry best practice but a vital part of ensuring onboard safety and security.

Prerequisite

Our cyber courses are suitable for all crew. Learners should have general hands-on familiarity with computers, mobile devices, and the internet as end users. No prior technical knowledge is required.

Certification

This course is NCSC-accredited in the UK. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from Bond Support Services & Maritime Cyber Solutions.

Upskill Your Team

Learners Will Develop an Awareness of:

  • the current cyber risks and threats commonly found on board and shoreside;
  • the steps that can be taken to minimize cyber risks and reduce potential exposure to cyber-attack;
  • how to identify unexpected or suspicious activities and monitor possible cyber risks;
  • the different devices used by crew and shoreside staff and the considerations necessary to secure them;
  • how best to respond when faced with a cyber incident;
  • the implications surrounding the legal and regulatory controls covering personal data and the technical security requirements necessary to comply with GDPR.

E-Learning

This online learning course is delivered via e-delivery through our web portal, providing learners with convenient access from any internet-enabled device. The portal supports self-paced learning, enabling participants to progress according to their own schedules.  Secure login credentials ensure personalised access, while integrated tracking features monitor progress and performance throughout the course. Designed to enhance flexibility and engagement, the course is ideal for both independent learners and professionals seeking to upskill remotely.

The “Buy coupons for your team” option enables you to pay for multiple students.  Each student can be given a coupon to create their own account, take the course and access their certificate.

Instructor-Led

Our 4-hour Instructor-Led courses are hosted privately via Zoom and tailored to your vessel’s schedule. Your team can join from onboard or while on shore leave, with management and family office members also welcome. The live format allows for real-time interaction and discussion of vessel-specific scenarios.

Each session is priced for up to five participants—fewer than five are welcome, but the base rate still applies. Additional participants can be added at an additional per person rate, offering a flexible and cost-effective group training option.
